The Faces

Image
We girls were out shopping when we saw an advertisement board shouting out "All for 100" !! Well....what more did we have to think?? In all the 7 of us went and I happend to see a plain olive green top, that too for just ₹100 :) I bought the top and gave it a complete make over. I call this "Faces" because these are unique faces of women , a type of painting I've never done before. The evolution - Time for some modelling ;) I combined it with a yellow dupatta and pant. I love the silver jwellery they are wearing so i got a similar one for myself :) But I must say , buying cheap clothes do have their down side. I had to paint the cloth over and over again as all the paint simply seeped through the cloth onto the plastic sheet I had kept underneath!! Here's a picture of the other side  I had to apply almost 3 coatings to get the final look. :( So just a piece of advice- if you're planning to do

Time To Pick Some Flowers

Image
So here comes the third kurthi for Renu which has a beautiful lady collecting flowers from a tree in full bloom. The bright design stands out beautifully on the yellow coloured kurthi. I had so much fun doing this painting especially the areas with the skin tone and the orange drape. I was really worried as I did not have the skin colour but then a little brown (Fabre Castle) with lots of white did the trick. I was so pleased with myself for discovering the perfect colour but guess what the same trick didn't work with another brown (Pidilite). This painting should have actually taken only a day but because the past few days were really packed it took me 3 days for completion ( So basically I was simply mentioning  that I do not paint 24x7 but have a job to do :) ) The evolution- At a glance :) From now on I have decided to personalise all the pictures I upload. I think it looks pretty good.

Circles & Swirls

Here's the second hand painted kurthi for renuka. Yellow creame and purple paints were used on this maroon colour kurthi. But for the first time I have no idea what I have painted. I usually have clarity in my designs but this one lost me. Nevertheless she gave me the design and I did my best. The design she gave me vs what I painted.  At work 🎨

Painted Phone Case

Image
So finally I tried my hand at painting on a phonecase! It all happened when my friend Reshma came to me with an old phonecase of hers and asked me to do something to hide the parts where the paint had peeled off. I was a little skeptical at first but the final result made me happy and Reshma was happy so....... 😉 I couldn't cover all the paintless areas but I guess the painting will catch your attention more.
